R&H, the VFX studio can easily be termed as the leading studio when dealing with big projects from the movie industry. Their CV is quite extra-ordinary, which include the likes of the X-Men films, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Golden Compass etc. Their latest movie, Ang Lee’s extraordinary take on the book LIFE OF PI by Yann Martel, proved to be a money-spinner at the box-office raking in more than $600mn. Not only that, it took home all the major technical awards including an Oscar for Best VFX and Best Director for Lee, his second in the last decade.

But all this was not possible if R&H, as the studio is known all over globally, hadn’t taken help from a 3D scanning service provider named Leader Tek based in Taiwan, Ang Lee’s country of origin. It helped R&H in availing the genius of 3D capture, which aided them to bring into life the life-altering tales of Pi and Richard Parker on-screen.

They used Rapid form XOR, a software for 3D scanning which aided them in combining Computer Aided Design with 3D scanning, which allowed them in portraying all those visually stunning elements one only gets to see from a quality 3D movie ably supported by a masterful storyteller.

The Sales Engineer of Leader Tek is happy with his team’s performance along side R&H in utilizing the 3D scanning software’s features in the best possible way to achieve something spectacular in film-making.
